The four worries that bring SW London families to our door
“I don’t know how my child actually compares”
You can see your child’s school reports. You can see how they’re doing on practice papers at home. What you can’t see is how they stack up against the children they’ll be sitting next to on exam day. Without that benchmark, you’re guessing.
“Online preparation hasn’t been enough”
Watching videos, doing worksheets at the kitchen table, marking work yourself. It’s a useful start. But your child has never sat in a classroom of equally ambitious peers, working under timed conditions, with two qualified teachers in the room. That gap matters on exam day.
“I want a real teacher, not just a screen”
Children pay attention differently when there’s a person in front of them. They ask questions they wouldn’t type into a chat box. They stay focused for longer. You want someone who can read your child in the room and adjust accordingly.
“I don’t want to roll the dice on a one-tutor operation”
Private tutors can be excellent, but they’re a single point of failure. If they’re ill, on holiday, or move away, you’re scrambling. You want a proper organisation with structure, accountability, and a track record you can verify.
Why a real classroom changes everything
The 11+ exam happens in a classroom. Often a secondary school classroom, with strangers, under time pressure, with a paper exam in front of your child. For many candidates, exam day is the first time they have ever experienced that environment.
Our in-person students experience it more than 40 times before exam day.

A course held by Test Teach takes place. It provides specialised preparatory tutoring for year 4 and year 5 children looking to take the 11 plus exam to gain a place at either a grammar or independent school, on September 1 and 2, 2018, in London, UK.
We run our classes inside real secondary school classrooms across South-West London. Your child sits beside other ambitious 11+ candidates, taught by qualified secondary school teachers who treat them with the seriousness they will encounter at grammar school. Every fourth Saturday, they sit a full timed test under invigilated conditions, just like the real thing.
What in-person gives you that an online programme cannot
A real classroom with real peers. Two qualified teachers in the room, not videos. A near-peer mentor your child can talk to between exercises. Marked creative writing with detailed feedback. Monthly tests under exam conditions, marked by us, with a full data report showing exactly where your child sits in their cohort.

The people in the room with your child
Two specialist teachers, both QTS, both secondary school experienced
Your child works with two completely separate teachers every Saturday. One hour with a specialist English teacher, then into a second classroom for an hour with a specialist Maths teacher. Every teacher we hire holds Qualified Teacher Status and has at least three years of secondary school teaching experience. That background is deliberate: it brings an air of seriousness into the room, and the children rise to it.
A near-peer mentor in every classroom
Alongside your child’s two teachers is a teaching assistant. Ours are different. They are 17 to 20 years old, recruited from the top local schools and universities, and the vast majority have been through the 11+ themselves, often into the very grammar schools your child is hoping to enter. Only one in five candidates makes it through our interview process. A 10-year-old listens to a 17-year-old in a way they don’t always listen to an adult, which is why our TAs are often the ones children go to when they’re stuck or want to talk about which schools they’re applying to.
Maximum 15 students per class
We cap every class at 15 students, and average attendance lands around 13. That ratio means your child gets noticed. Our teachers and TAs know your child by name within the first session. Nowhere to hide, and nowhere to be overlooked.
Boys and girls are taught separately. Year 4 and Year 5 are taught separately. This isn’t ideology; it’s because the social dynamics and academic focus simply work better that way for this age group preparing for these specific exams.

Finally, a structured path through the 11+ maze
Instead of wondering if you’re covering everything your child needs, you’ll have confidence in a systematic approach that’s helped thousands of families navigate this challenging journey. Our 16 years of experience means you’re following a proven roadmap to success, not piecing together random materials and hoping for the best.
Your confidence restored in minutes, not hours
No more evening battles trying to explain concepts you’re unsure about yourself. When your child hits a stumbling block, you can pull up a clear, step-by-step explanation that makes you both feel confident again. You become the supportive parent, not the stressed teacher struggling with unfamiliar material.
Role models your child actually wants to listen to
When your 10-year-old gets stuck, they’re learning from someone who’s “been there”—not just academically, but recently enough to remember what it felt like. These aren’t distant adults lecturing from on high, but inspiring near-peers who make challenging concepts feel achievable rather than impossible.
Targeted improvement that actually works
Instead of your child repeatedly making the same mistakes, you can pinpoint exactly where they’re struggling and address it systematically. Watch their confidence grow as they master topics that once seemed impossible, building momentum rather than hitting the same walls repeatedly.
Creative writing confidence that transforms your child’s weakest subject into their strongest
Our structured approach to creative writing means they’ll walk into their 11+ exam excited to show off their writing abilities, not dreading the creative task that trips up so many other candidates.

Exam-day confidence through realistic practice
Your child walks into their 11+ exam having practiced exactly as they’ll be tested—with pen and paper, under timed conditions. While other children struggle with the unfamiliar format, yours feels at home because they’ve experienced it hundreds of times before. No last-minute panic about whether they can handle the pressure.

Feeling overwhelmed by the 11+?
“I Don’t Even Know
Where to Start”
The 11+ syllabus is complex and unlike anything taught in primary school. You know your child needs preparation, but the sheer volume of information feels impossible to navigate.
“Am I Leaving This
Too Late?”
Every month that passes, you worry you should have started sooner. Other parents seem to have it all figured out, while you’re still trying to understand what your child actually needs to learn.
“I Can’t Help When
They Get Stuck”
When your child brings you a challenging maths problem or comprehension question, you feel helpless. These aren’t the methods you learned at school, and you worry you’re giving them the wrong guidance.
“I Need Someone Who
Knows What They’re Doing”
You want to give your child every opportunity to succeed, but you know this requires expertise you don’t have. You need professionals who understand exactly what the 11+ demands.
